Things to Make With a Bottle Cap

2

    Refrigerator Scrapbook Magnets

    • Scrapbooks aren't just for photo albums anymore. If you have dozens of tiny photo samples from family Christmas cards or school photo sessions, recycle them along with your bottle caps.

Clean out the bottle caps and glue decorative fabric or scrapbook paper into the back of each cap. Cut apart your photos and glue them into the cap as well. Add tiny stickers, words and beads to each cap. Glaze the entire collage with craft glue and add magnets to the back of each cap.

    Coasters

    • Keep your wooden furniture stain-free for less with bottle cap coasters. Cover the back of each cap with a little circle of felt. Add a few embellishments, like small buttons, fabric pieces, beads, or pebbles to the inside of each cap. Pour resin into the caps and allow them to cure for about 48 hours. Glue the edges of the caps together in a circular formation. The felt will protect your furniture while the resin supports beverages and adds a decorative touch to your tables.

    Beaded Curtains

    • If your teen wants to spruce up her room or you're tired of the same old window treatments, go modern and green at the same time with bottle caps.

Separate the caps into groups and spray paint each group a different color. You may use primary colors, pastels, neon or go with metallic or glitter. Let the caps dry overnight and use a nail to punch two holes in the top and bottom edges of each cap. String them together on fishing line and hang them in the door frame or from a spring-loaded curtain rod. With some careful planning, you can even arrange the colors to make designs like flowers or stripes.

    Bottle Cap Mosaic

    • Save your favorite drink caps to make personalized planters. Simply glue the caps to the outside of an ordinary terracotta pot with tile glue or with silicone caulk. Grout the caps with tile grout and let the grout dry for half of the recommended time. Clean the excess grout from the caps and let the planter cure fully.

You may spend time saving up the caps from particular drinks or arrange the caps you have in a particular pattern. You can also paint them white and stamp them with alcohol ink to create original mosaic tiles. Solid paint colors work as well.
