How to Install Unix in Windows XP
- 1). Turn on your computer as usual to boot into Windows XP. You will be able to use XP to perform this entire function.
- 2). Partition your hard drive. You can use Easeus Partition Master, Gparted, Partition Logic or any other program to make a second partition on your drive. For Unix, you should allocate about 20 GB of space.
- 3). Install Unix. Insert your Unix installation CD into your CD/DVD drive and reboot your computer. As your computer loads, repeatedly press F2 to enter your BIOS settings.
- 4). Modify your boot sequence to boot from CD. Restart your computer. Follow the onscreen prompts to install Unix.
- 5). Select "Yes" when prompted to create a dual-boot machine. You will now be able to run both Unix and Windows XP on your computer.
