How to Shut Off the Back Up Lights on a Chevy Truck
- 1). Turn the truck's engine off and open the hood.
- 2). Remove the cover from the fuse block in the upper-right hand corner of the engine compartment. Locate the fuse labeled "B/U LP."
- 3). Remove the "B/U LP" fuse with your thumb and index finger.
- 4). Place the cover back onto the fuse and close the hood. If you wish to enable the back-up lamps again, simply reinstall the fuse.
- 1). Turn the engine of your truck off and open the tail gate. Put on the gloves.
- 2). Remove the inboard screws on the rear of the truck that secure the tail light assembly with a Phillips screwdriver.
- 3). Pull the tail light assembly out of the vehicle.
- 4). Remove the middle socket. This is the back-up lamp socket. Rotate the bulb counterclockwise and pull it out. Place the socket back into the tail light assembly.
- 5). Place the assembly back into the vehicle and reinstall the two screws. Close the tail gate. When you wish to use your back-up lamps again, simply reinstall the bulbs.
