Do you need to pass that big test, do better in school, or get into a school that you've always dreamed of? Are you afraid your grades are not high enough? They can be.
Yes, you have the power to control how your future.
This is not a lecture by any means, but there really are ways to increase your brain function and I will show how.
These methods have been researched over and over again.
I have listed some things below that you can start right now to make a huge difference, don't believe me? Do the research yourself.
Trust me, it works.
Here is my story.
I did fairly well in high school, not a genius, but I did ok.
I went on to college where I maintained a 2.
8 average pretty much the entire time.
I then took a course on study habits because I had to get my average up before entering a senior college.
After this course, I started doing much better.
I am now at a senior with an overall GPA of 3.
85 and I have had a 4.
0 for the last two semesters.
I feel more self confident and much smarter.
You don't have to be born smart, but you can become smart.
You can increase your IQ score, your ACT, or simply that math test, but you need to know how to do it.
First things first you must develop new habits.
Habits take 30-90 days to develop.
Incorporate the next 10 items into your daily routine and you will see a dramatic difference.
First of all, you must maintain good posture.
It may sound simple, but this one change can make a difference of 5- 10 points on an IQ test.
Try this little test.
Look at the floor, slouch and open your mouth and then attempt to work a math problem in your head.
Now sit erect, look forward and close your mouth and work the same problem.
See a difference? Secondly, take your vitamins.
Why? Because our diets are full of processed foods and fast foods which lack important vitamins and minerals for proper brain function.
Vitamins will replace the vitamins that we lose and allow your brain to function at its highest.
Third, consume "brain food".
A good example is nuts, especially walnuts and almonds.
These contain amino acids which will increase your brain function.
Fourth, consume foods that contain Selenium.
Selenium is a mood enhancer and can be found in Brazil nuts and garlic.
It has been proven that people in a good mood have higher test scores.
Fifth, Olive oil improves memory function.
Incorporate this into the foods you cook and eat.
Sixth, Avoid sugar before an important test or when your mental capacity needs to be at its best.
When sugar is consumed, insulin rushes into the bloodstream to counteract the sugar rush and a "brain fog" develops.
Seventh, eat breakfast.
Yes, I know you have heard this your entire life, but it is true.
Your body and brain have fasted all night long and need proper nutrients replenished in order to function at its best.
It has been proven that when children who did not eat breakfast started doing so, their math scores dramatically increased, some as high as a whole letter grade.
Eighth, keep a positive attitude.
Expect to do well and you will.
Ninth, talk positive of others.
Do this even if you don't think highly of them.
It will in turn cause people to speak highly of you, which will boost your self confidence.
Last but not least, complete a puzzle, play a chess game and other mental activities at least once a day.
This will keep your brain sharp and alert.
These are just the tip of the iceberg.
There are many other effective strategies that can be used to increase your intelligence level.
