How Do I Install Recovery CD on Windows XP?
- 1). Place the Windows XP Installation disk in your computer's CD tray.
- 2). Click "Start" and then "Run."
- 3). Type "d:\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons" in the "Open" box. The "d" represents the letter of the drive that you want to install the Recovery Console onto, so be sure to replace with the correct letter if you want to install it on a different drive. Type "d:\amd64\winnt32.exe /cmdcons" in the "Open" box if you have Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition.
Hit "Enter." - 4). Click "Yes" in the "Windows Setup Dialog Box" to confirm installation.
- 5). Restart your computer when the process is complete. The Windows XP Recovery CD is now installed on your system.
