Physical Perfection and Attraction
As I was replying a comment earlier today made by one of my readers, I was struck by a familiar thought that has been lingering on my mind over the few days..
- Our physical appearance and attraction to the opposite sex.
Coincidentally, I also heard over the radio today at 1.
15pm on 104.
9 FM where the deejay mentioned that 'Getting noticed is something everyone desires'...
how true that is, don't you think? We all live in a society today where we strive so hard to be accepted.
Accepted among family, among friends, among a society, university, and so on.
Speaking about acceptance draws my thoughts to physical appearance.
It is indeed sad that many people today judge a person based solely on their looks before they make an attempt to get to know that person.
Our desires to look good are totally normal.
In fact, isn't it awesome how God created Men to be visually oriented, and then created Women with a desire in her heart to make herself beautiful..
to be pretty for someone..
even at an innocent young age? Think about it...
But when we start to obsess over beauty, the way we look, our appearance, when we start to mess with mother nature (cosmetic surgery, illegal use of anabolic steroids) and neglect every other aspect of our life...
that is when things start to take an awful turn.
That is when the pursuit of physical fitness crosses the line.
How far would you go? Would you go under the knife to enhance the way you look...
? Women - would you get breast implants?Men - would you inject yourself with anabolic steroids to accelerate the growth of your muscles?
