How to Fix Voice Chat for Windows
- 1). Make sure your microphone is properly connected to your computer. The cable that connects your mic to your computer should be plugged securely into the "Mic In" input on your computer's sound card, which is accessible through the rear of the computer case.
- 2). Make sure your sound card "Mic In" input isn't muted. To check, click twice on the "Volume" icon in your Windows toolbar. Make sure there is no check in the "Mute" box next to the "Microphone" column.
- 3). Make sure your Internet connection is working properly. You need a working Internet connection to properly engage in a voice chat with another user. If your Internet goes down the process will not work. Unplug the power cable to your Internet modem and wait 10 to 15 seconds before plugging it back in. This will reset the modem, which will reset your Internet connection.
