How to Erase & Reset an iPod

    • 1). Plug the iPod you wish to erase and reset into your computer via that iPod's cord.

    • 2). Open iTunes.

    • 3). Click the iPod name, which is located on the left portion of iTunes. When the name is highlighted, tabs will be visible at the top of iTunes.

    • 4). Click the "Summary" tab. Two buttons will become visible inside of the middle iTunes window.

    • 5). Click the "Restore" button. A small window will open inside of iTunes. Click the "Restore" button located inside of this window. If another window opens, proceed to Step 6. If no window opens, the iPod will automatically be erased and reset. In these cases, nothing more needs to be done.

    • 6). Choose any of the four restore options that are located inside the open window by clicking on that option. This option you select is based on personal preference, but any of the four will erase and reset the iPod. After you have click one option, click "Restore" again.
