Tektronix P6012 Specifications
- An oscilloscope is a scientific instrument that measures and displays electrical signals. The variations of these signals appear as a visible wave on a computer screen. There are three common types of oscilloscopes; basic, bench and performance. A performance oscilloscope provides the most in depth analysis. The Tektronix P6012 is an older model passive voltage probe used on the company's line of oscilloscopes.
- The probe has a series resistance of 9 megaohms. It has operational resistance of one megaohm. It is shunted by a capacitance of between 15 and 47 picofarads. A series resistance is a necessity in applications where the voltage must be weakened or a current, rather than a voltage, must be inserted.
- The maximum voltage is 500 volts for DC and AC. Its input is between 11.5pF and 15.5pF.
- The cable length for the probe is 3.5 feet. Minimum compensation is 15pF and maximum compensation is 47pF. The speed is 5ns. Input R is 10m. B/W is 33 MHz. Cable that is compatible with the Tektronix P6012 probe (9 feet, 10x17pf/10Mohn) can be purchased online for $20 as of October 2010.
