How to Use Plastalina Clay
- 1). Roll, cut or manipulate the Plastalina clay into the starting shape.
- 2). Place the Plastalina on a ceramic decorating wheel. Using a craft knife, cut the clay away from the initial shape to create the rough form of the desired sculpture. For example, make a sculpture of a bird by cutting away the excess above the back, around the bird breast and the tail feathers. The shape will look like a squared bird.
- 3). Carve the Plastalina clay with clay carving tools to refine the shape, pulling or pushing the tools across the surface of the clay.
- 4). Add Plastalina to the sculpture to create extensions, such as a beak or tail feathers to a bird, or to repair details. Roll or shape a piece of Plastalina the required size. Place the Plastalina on the sculpture. Smooth the connecting seam with your finger.
