How to Change the Windows XP OS Language
- 1). Click on the green start menu in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. It should have the Windows logo icon.
- 2). Locate the "Control Panel" on the right frame of the menu. If you cannot read the language your computer is in, the icon should be a pencil and clipboard with a check mark on it sixth up from the bottom. Click this "Control Panel" icon.
- 3). Find and click "Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options". It should be the icon of a world and a calendar located in the right-hand column, third from the top.
- 4). Click the Control Panel icon "Regional and Language Options" which has an icon of a globe. This will open a its own explorer window.
- 5). Select the second tab to the right in the new explorer window (in English this should be titled "Languages").
- 6). Click the first and only button in the white frame. In English this is labeled "Details." This will open a new explorer window.
- 7). Click the first button on the middle right side of the window, in English this is titled "Add," and from the new windows that open, select your language from the two pull down menus. Press "OK" on all the explorer windows one by one, and you will be prompted to restart your computer. Do this, and your computer should now be oriented to the language you prefer.
