To die for has been used as a figure of speech for some time now and over a period, I hear people say that "Oh they have desserts to die for"! On the other hand, I have heard that a piece of jewelry or food is to die for.
Do we really mean that? Of course, I know that it is a figure of speech, but as you keep saying it, you will die for it.
There are many addictions in the world involving food, drink, gambling, jewelry and cars to name a few.
Is there any food, vacation, drink or piece of jewelry that you would die for? Of course not, you may say but are you slowly dying for it? Are you gradually putting yourself in a position of death by what you sacrifice for things? Man, you are taking this thing too far-am I? We are snared by the words of our mouth according to Proverbs chapter 6 and verse 2.
Proverbs 12:13 also says that the wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.
As challenging as it may be, I want to encourage you to speak words of faith to your situation.
When you want to speak your mind, check it against the word of God and if it does not line up, do not even let it proceed out of your mouth.
Rather than speaking words to die for speak words to live for! If you find that your life is in the dumps, then perhaps it is because your words are in the dumps.
Are you talking problems or solutions? Are you talking faith or fear, victory or defeat, good or bad, healing or sickness? You play a major part in your own success and the words you speak are either helping or hurting your cause.
You can make a difference if that is your goal, but you have to remain faithful to your vision.
Do you have a vision? Do you have a plan? I will ask you this question again and you must ask yourself as well-are you speaking words to live for or words to die for? Be the solution today and the change that you are seeking will come.
