How to Write an IAP for ICS
- 1). Establish who will serve as the leader of the emergency management team and write it down. Create a list of the people involved in executing the plan and assign roles and responsibilities to each of them.
- 2). Assemble a list of local, state and federal emergency contact information that may be relevant to the incident you are addressing. Include phone numbers, individuals' names and email addresses, and research the emergency communication protocols of each of them.
- 3). Identify any prerequisite training, licensing or certification, for example CPR or first-aid certification, that may need to be completed in order for the IAP to be successfully executed.
- 4). Create a post-incident action plan that defines the daily tasks that must be completed in order to effectively address the incident's consequences.
