Film Books – Entertain Your Senses

Are you a movie buff? Then increase your film knowledge with film books. These days, avid readers are a dying species. I always debate among my friends whether a good film can measure up to the book. If the film is good and is really well made only then it can truly reflect the spirit of the original work. Watching a film after reading its original screenplay makes it all the more fun, as it literally brings your imagination to life.

There are many films that have been adapted from movie books. Let's start our discussion with The Lord Of The Rings trilogy. The director took great liberties with the writer's work by removing characters and scenes which were central to the plot and greatly expanded on the battle scenes which made things really exciting. But considering the density of the original source material, the film was a great accomplishment and is really commendable. All three films were a blockbuster and were incredibly successful, and developed an astonishing fan following.

Another magical, fantasy film books adaptation which continues to charm a mass chunk of audience, and has become the most successful film in the course of time is the Harry Potter series. Here, both the books and the film became incredibly popular. The film was really lucky as stumbled upon casting gold with the three leads along with a fantastic supporting cast. The cream of the crop is that most of the actors that were central to the film were able to stick to it throughout its seven parts.

In recent times one movie and its original movie book that have become a bestseller and popular especially with the fairer sex is the Twilight series. It's a film about shiny, new age vampires with charming looks and hearts full of emotion. The special effects in the film are commendable, however, the story is very different from how one used to perceive vampire films. Unlike its previous counterparts, Twilight was not a horror film, but a drama. This change was refreshingly different from the gamut of vampire films like Dracula and Underworld.
