The Truth About Abs - How to Really Get Six Pack Abs

28
There are so many myths around how to get six pack abs.
The truth about getting abs is that you need to change up your lifestyle a little bit.
Of course the best and most effective way to burn belly fat and get great looking abs is by eating the right foods as well as doing the correct exercises.
In this article I will uncover the common myths of getting abs as well as provide you with some great tips you can use immediately.
Abs Myth #1 - Ab machines work.
Honestly ab equipment like the ab rocker does work but you really don't need to spend all that money on something that will most likely just take up space in your house.
All you need to do is learn some great easy ab exercises that don't require any equipment.
There is some equipment that I do recommend but I will get to that in a little bit.
Abs Myth #2 - Doing hundreds of crunches every day is very effective.
You would be better off getting the latest ab machine than doing these strenuous work outs.
Doing hundreds of basic floor crunches brings stress on your lower back and neck.
On top of that you get no range and you can barely flex your abs.
The days of doing crunches you learned in gym class are over and it is time to do some effective ab work outs like reverse crunches and weighted sit ups on an exercise ball.
How to Get Six Pack Abs Like I said before you are going to have to make some changes in your lifestyle if you want to not only get six pack abs but also improve the way you look and your health.
It always starts with eating the right foods like lean meats, beans, nuts, fruits, and vegetables.
As far as balancing carbs, protein, and fats I would say to not keep track.
Keeping a food log book is a waste of time in my opinion.
Just try to eat plenty of protein so you build your six pack abs faster.
Try to limit carbs to having fruits and vegetables with every meal and only eat starchy carbs like bread and oatmeal after a work out.
Also get healthy fats that are not the saturated kind.
Although you should get a little bit of saturated fats because they are not as bad as many experts say they are.
Eat 5-6 small meals a day and only eat three or four junk food meals a week.
Try to spread them out so you feel satisfied all week without having the urge to overindulge.
By doing all this your belly fat will shrink making it much easier to see your abs that you are striving for.
Now time to talk about the exercising part of getting good abs.
There are many effective abs exercises like...
Hanging Knee Raises These are done by hanging on a pull up bar by straightening out your body and then raising your knees so that they almost touch your chest.
Reverse Ab Crunches I know I said that crunches on the floor are ineffective but that only goes for regular crunches.
These are done by laying on the floor with your back straight and your legs in the air with your knees bent ninety degrees.
Then bring your legs back so that your knees touch your chest then back to the first position.
Crunches on an Exercise Ball Doing crunches on a swiss ball are much more effective than regular floor crunches for a number of reasons.
For one thing you get way more range so you can go all the way back and all the way forward without straining your back and neck.
Also to make it more challenging you can add some weight by simply holding a dumbbell above your chest.
