- Veteran actor William H Macy told reporters he?s extremely proud of his wife, Felicity Huffman, who picked three nominations from the Screen Actors Guild for her work in "Transamerica" and "Desperate Housewives." Macy joked, ?I am going to change my name to William H.Huffman.?
- ?CSI? star Gary Sinise also showed up at the 17th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival. When I told him we miss seeing him in films, he admitted he just doesn?t have time for movies anymore.
When he?s not busy filming the series, he spends his off-time working with the USO. Asked why he feels so strongly about supporting the USO, Sinise said, ?I know a bunch of military folks. They are great volunteers. We need them. They do hard work and they?re making a lot of sacrifices. It?s good to just go out and say thank you and pat them on the back. It?s a great reward.?
- Virginia Madsen made her second appearance at the Palm Springs Festival in as many years. Madsen was on hand to present the Producer of the Year Award to Michael London. After attending the Palm Springs Festival in 2005 for ?Sideways,? Madsen said it just felt right to return to the desert town to honor ?Sideways? producer London. ?What stands out the most is that it?s almost like the beginning of the end. To present to Alexander Payne last year, my first time here? It?s where everything began. And then here again with Michael London after like a wild ride this year. So it just feels right to be here. I?m very grateful,? explained Madsen.
