How to Set an Animated GIF as a Background in Windows XP
- 1). Right-click your Windows XP desktop, then select Properties to show the Display Properties window.
- 2). Click "Browse" to open the Browse window. This window displays the image files located on your computer. Scroll through the list and double-click an animated GIF file.
- 3). Click "Apply." Your selected GIF animation appears on the desktop. Click "Desktop Color" to view a list of colors, then click one of the colors to use it as a background color. This color will appear in any space on your desktop not occupied by the GIF.
- 4). Click the Position drop-down box. A menu opens and displays three options: Stretch, Center and Tile. The Stretch option stretches the GIF and makes it fill the screen regardless of its size. The Center option centers the GIF on your desktop. The Tile option creates a tile effect by repeating the image as many times as necessary to fill the desktop.
- 5). Click the option you wish to use, and then click "Apply." Click "OK" to save your changes.
