Install External Hard Drive

• 1). Disconnect the TiVo AC power cord from the power source. Be sure to power off your TiVo before disconnecting it from the power outlet.
  
  
• 2). Plug the eSATA cable from the My Book AV DVR Expander into the eSATA input slot on the back of the TiVo HD. Connect the other end of the eSATA cable into the DVR Expander.
  
  
• 3). Connect the AC power cable to the DVR Expander. Then connect the opposite end to a power outlet. The power LED light will turn on when the DVR Expander has a good connection to the power outlet.
  
  
• 4). Allow the DVR Expander to boot up by waiting 15 to 20 seconds.
  
  
• 5). Reattach the TiVo AC power cord to the power source.
  
  
• 6). Turn on the TiVo and follow the onscreen instructions to set up the DVR Expander with the TiVo. It may take a few minutes for the TiVo to restart.
  
  

Configure External Hard Drive with TiVo

• 1). Select "Yes, set up external storage device" from the TiVo on-screen options.
  
  
• 2). Click "Yes, set up this device" from the "External Storage" screen.
  
  
• 3). Press the "Thumbs Down" button on your TiVo remote controller three times after reading the warning message. To pair the DVR Expander to the TiVo, select "Enter" on the remote controller.
