    • 1). Lift the Audi's hood and loosen the bolts that secure each of the battery cable clamps to the respective battery terminals with a 10 mm socket wrench. Lift the cables from the battery.

    • 2). Place the negative battery cable aside (black cable, connected from negative battery terminal to the frame of the Audi).

    • 3). Place the ring terminal from the amplifier wiring kit onto the positive battery lead. Place the positive battery cable clamp onto the lead, over the ring terminal. Tighten the cable's clamp with the 10 mm wrench.

    • 4). Connect the power supply cable from the amp wiring kit to the ring terminal. Route the power cable through the firewall and into the inside of the vehicle. Use a path already established through the firewall to avoid having to drill a new opening in the engine compartment.

    • 5). Remove the fuse from the ring terminal's fuse holder and move to the inside of the Audi.

    • 6). Insert the VW stereo removal keys into the slots at the lower corners of the factory stereo's face. Pull outward on the tools while pulling the stereo from the dashboard. Pull the unit from the stereo dock until the wiring connections are reachable by hand.

    • 7). Unplug the stereo wiring connections from the outlets on the back of the stereo. Leave the antenna cable plugged into the lower right corner of the stereo's rear panel.

    • 8). Plug the Audi's stereo wiring into the wiring harness adapter leads. Plug the wiring harness adapter leads into the corresponding outlets on the back of the stock stereo unit.

    • 9). Plug the patch cables into the available lead connectors of the wiring harness adapter. Feed the patch cables through the back of the Audi's stereo dock and down to the floor of the vehicle.

    • 10

Slide the factory stereo back into the stereo dock. Push the unit into the dashboard until it snaps into place on both sides.

    • 11

Route the patch cables to the rear cargo area of the TT. Lay the wiring from the stereo along the passenger side of the car while the power cable from the battery should be laid on the driver's side of the vehicle to avoid interference.

Lift the rear hatch of the Audi. Place the sub and amplifier in the rear cargo area of the car.

    • 13

Plug the power supply cable into the power input on the amplifier. Connect the patch cable leads to the signal and turn-on lead outlets on the amp.

    • 14

Plug the grounding wire into the amplifier at the outlet near the power input. Choose a bolt or screw in the back of the Audi that is directly connected with the TT's frame. Connect the grounding wire to the grounding point you have chosen provided that it is within 20 inches of the amplifier itself.

Connect speakers wires to the amplifier. Route the speaker wire to the subwoofer. Connect the wire to the appropriate inputs on the sub (negative OUT from the amplifier to negative IN on the sub, and so on). Return to the battery.

    • 16

Place the negative battery cable clamp back around the negative battery terminal. Tighten the bolt on the negative battery cable clamp to secure it to the lead post. Replace the fuse into the ring terminal's fuse holder.

    • 17

      Close the Audi's hood.
