How do I Install Adura Luxury Tile?
- 1). Prepare the subfloor by making sure it is level, sealed, and all cracks and divots are filled and sealed.
- 2). Transport the Adura tile into the project area and open all the tile packages. Leave the tile exposed to the environment in the project area for at least 48 hours to allow the tile to acclimate and moisture levels to stabilize.
- 3). Snap center chalk lines along the floor by using a tape measure and measuring each floor side, dividing each length in two and measuring from each mid point to the opposite mid point, crossing and marking the middle point of the project area. Snap a chalk line from the mid point of each edge to the mid point of the opposite edge, crossing the middle of the project area.
- 4). Examine the tile for color consistency and damage, then lay out the pattern throughout the project area using the tile spacers to compensate for the required 1/8 inch grout space.
- 5). Cut any tiles to fit the edges of the room or any corners presented by kitchen islands or other fixtures with a standard, manual tile cutter. Mark the cut line on the back of the tile and score over the line with the tile cutter, then snap the tile in two by pressing on the score line with the cutter's rubber snap.
- 6). Take up a section of the tile, spread a quarter-inch thick layer of Mannington MT-711 adhesive for Adura tile over the section with the 1/16 inch notched tile trowel.
- 7). Set the tile into the adhesive by slightly wiggling the tile into the adhesive making sure all installation arrows are pointing in the same direction. Use the Mannington tile spacers to ensure the required 1/8 inch grout space between tile. Start at the center of the project area where the chalk lines cross to ensure straight installation.
