How to Make a Belt Out of Shoestring
- 1). Grasp three 60-inch-long shoelaces together at one end, lining up the ends so plastic pieces at the end are together. Tie a knot about 3 inches from the end.
- 2). Tape the end of the shoelaces to a flat work surface, or pin the laces through the knot to a pillow and hold the pillow in your lap. Lay the laces out so that they are laying flat and next to each other.
- 3). Bring the left shoelace over the middle shoelace. Bring the right shoelace over the middle shoelace. Continue braiding in this manner until you reach 3 inches from the end.
- 4). Tie a knot in the loose shoestrings immediately after the braid. You have a braided belt with fringes on both ends that you can use to hold up your pants comfortably.
