oktoberfestinfbg.com - If you love college football, you're familiar with the Red River Rivalry, also known as the Red River Shootout. Each October, Oklahoma University and The University of Texas take to the field to determine bragging rights -- and some years, which will play for a Big 12 and even the BCS national title. The game is scheduled to be held through 2015 at the Cotton Bowl, which is at Fair Park in Dallas. The rivalry is almost as big as the state of Texas.

The host of the 1936 World's Fair, the park is the only intact and unaltered pre-1950s world fair site remaining in the country, according to fairpark's website. And once a year since 1952, Big Texas has called Fair Park home. He's the big ol' cowboy who greets folks as they come through the gates. The fair is the birthplace of Fletcher's Corny Dog and calls itself the Fried Food Capital of the World. Of course, you can only call it that if you enjoy fried cheesecake, candy bars and Coca-Cola.
