Faux Stained Glass Pane

• Replicate the look of stained glass on window panes with a few simple items from the craft store. Use plastic "lead," a thick, liquid substance that looks and acts much like the raised lead solder used in crafting true stained glass, to create an outline, pattern or picture on the window pane. Allow to dry and then fill in the individual sections with translucent glass paint. The finished pane can be used as an indoor window pane, a wall hanging or a suncatcher.
  
  

Table Top

• Use a large window pane to create a custom table top. Embellish the pane with translucent or iridescent ceramic or glass tiles applied with grout in a design or a random fashion for an eclectic look. The same technique can be used to create a custom coffee table top from an old multipanel window frame. Refinish the frame as desired and insert panes into existing pane grooves and secure with caulking. Panes can be resized with a glass scoring tool if necessary.
  
  

Beaded Candle Panels

• Apply multicolored glass marbles to window panes with clear-drying, craft glue for a radiant candle panel. Alternate rows of color, create an abstract design or use different sizes of marbles to create an eye-catching effect. Cut a groove into the center of a metallic painted, stained or faux-finished 2-inch by 4-inch piece of wood and secure the panel with a heavyduty caulking medium to ensure stability. Set one or more candles behind the frame for light-dancing color changes.
  
  

Window Pane Picture Frame

• Sandwich a photo between two matching window panes to create an instant photo frame. Secure the frame with glass caulk or lead solder. Embellish the edges of the frame with glass marbles, buttons, sequins or shells. Photos can be replaced with colorful fabric scraps, inspirational sayings or dried flowers. You can insert the panel into a commercial frame that's easy to hang or display, or use a circular glass-scoring tool to create a clean hole at the top center of the pane, thread with heavy ribbon and use as a wall hanging.
