How to Hide a Spot on the Wood Floor
- 1). Cover the spot with an area rug. Choose a rug that does not overwhelm the flooring and coordinates with the overall look of the room. The rug will cover the spot and is then repurposed after a more permanent solution for the stain is discovered.
- 2). Rearrange the furniture to cover the spot. Move a sofa, chair or ottoman over the spot to conceal it.
- 3). Create inexpensive seating by covering the spot with an over-sized pillow or beanbag chair. The pillow or beanbag chair is a quick solution to cover the spot and create extra seating for company.
- 4). Set a potted plant or tree over any spots in the corner of the room. Use a plant that is large enough to cover the spot, paying attention to set a tray under the pot to prevent future water marks.
- 5). Turn the unwanted spot into the designated pet area. Set a pet bed or blanket over the spot to give your dog or cat a warm place to nap on the wood flooring.
