How to Make Treated Plywood
- 1). Sand the plywood with 120-grit sandpaper to remove any imperfections from the wood and to slightly roughen the surface. A rough surface will absorb the stain effectively.
- 2). Move the plywood to a shady area.
- 3). Dip a paintbrush in the sealer.
- 4). Apply the sealer, moving the brush with the grain. Overlap the stain application for the best coverage.
- 5). Allow the first coat to become tacky then apply a second coat before it dries.
- 6). Wipe off excess stain that has not penetrated the wood with a rag.
