How to Build a Wood PC Case
- 1). Measure the width, length and height of your existing desktop computer. Add ½ inch to each of the measurements.
- 2). Transfer the width and length to a piece of plywood. Make a cut mark with a pencil and cut the piece with the circular saw. Repeat this step to cut a second piece.
- 3). Transfer the length and height to the plywood. Make a cut mark with the pencil and cut the piece with the circular saw. Repeat this step to cut a second piece.
- 4). Transfer the width and height to the plywood. Make a cut mark with the pencil and cut the piece with the circular saw.
- 5). Place the pieces together to form a box with the front and back ends of the box open. Drill three pilot holes on the edges where to boards meet with the power drill. Apply a bead of wood glue to each edge and then secure the pieces with screws.
- 6). Attach two hinges to the side of the last piece of plywood with screws. This piece will be the door for the case. Set the door on the front of the box. Drill pilot holes for the screws and secure the hinges to the box.
- 7). Measure and cut a piece of plywood that is 1 inch wide and the width of the computer. This is the back support of the wood case.
- 8). Insert the computer into the case to see where to secure the back support. The support cannot block the fans, the expansion card slots or input ports. Remove the computer from the case.
- 9). Set the back support on the back side of the case. Drill pilot holes on each side of the case and secure the support with screws.

Place the computer back into the case. Connect the cables for power and various components.
