Crafts With Dry Erase Boards
- Dry erase board frames are usually framed with a thin strip of aluminum, which isn't aesthetically interesting for the kitchen or home office. Modify a dry erase board to fit your decor with a picture frame. There's no need to buy a new one -- shop at thrift stores for unique or vintage frames. When you find a wooden frame that matches the size of your dry erase board, apply a generous line of glue with a hot glue gun to the edge of the dry erase board. Fit it into the frame and let it dry face down. Attach a small screw eye to the side or front of the frame and tie a long ribbon to it. Tie a dry erase marker to the other end and let it hang.
- A small, dry erase board can keep kids busy while traveling. They can play games and doodle to their hearts' content without wasting paper. Make it easy to tote a dry erase board and a few erasable pens with fabric and a bit of ribbon. Cut two pieces of fabric that are 1 inch larger on all sides than the size of your dry erase board. Fold one edge over by 1/2-inch and sew a hem. Place the fabric, right sides together, and sew along the remaining edges -- the hemmed edge is the top opening of the bag. Cut a long length of wide, grosgrain ribbon and stitch it to the side seams of the bag. Turn the bag right sides out.
