How to Apply Sealer to Granite Tile
- 1). Clean your tile thoroughly using regular household cleaner and a sponge (or mop if your tiles are on the floor). Once you are finished, dry the surface completely with a towel.
- 2). Apply the natural stone sealant directly to the granite tile, and rub it in using a clean rag. Use small circular motions to rub it in most effectively. The sealant should turn white and then transparent. Once you can no longer see the sealant substance, you can stop rubbing.
- 3). Allow the sealant to set for the time recommended by the product's instructions. Most "quick-set" sealants require only five to 10 minutes, but you may need up to an hour for heavier sealants. During this time, do not touch the granite surface, as that can cause the sealant to become cloudy or smeared.
