  The small community of New Castle is located in Craig County in the state of Virginia. The area is steeped in history from the first permanent English settlement of Jamestown in 1607, through both the Revolutionary and the Civil Wars, Set in the picturesque Shenandoah Valley, home of Skyline Drive and probably the most spectacular parkway in the nation, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the area affords a multitude of outdoor recreational activities including tennis and golf, and hiking, biking, boating and fishing in the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains. The diminutive town of New Castle does not provide any motels or hotels, but the neighboring cities of both Salem and Roanoke do.
