In the state of Colorado, you need a Colorado driver's license, a Colorado Department of Revenue identification number, or the last four digits of your social security number to register to vote in person. When you get your driver's license, you can automatically register to vote at the DMV. The last day to register to vote in a specific election is 29 days before that election.

Voter Registration Requirements:

• You must be a U.S. citizen.
• You must be 18 years of age on or before the date of the election.
• You must reside in Colorado at your present address for at least 30 days before the election.

For voter registration forms, please visit the Colorado Secretary of State website. The form takes 20 days to process. If you do not have a Colorado driver's license, additional identification may be required if registering to vote by mail.

Where to Vote in Denver:

Although the majority of local elections are held through mail-in ballots, polling locations are available throughout Denver for major elections. If you are already registered to vote, you will automatically receive a mail-in ballot in Denver for the 2014 General Election. Alternatively, you can vote at one of these 13 service centers beginning on Oct. 20, 2014.

On Election Day on Nov. 4, 2014, the voter service centers will be open from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Early Voting in Denver:

Denverites who want to get a jump on voting can vote weeks before the 2014 General Election at any one of the 13 voter service centers listed above. Early voting begins on Oct. 20, 2014. Early voting hours are 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturdays at all locations, except for the Denver Elections Division. The Denver Elections Division will be open for early voting from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

Additional Voter Centers and 24-Hour Ballot Drop-Off Locations:

In addition to the 13 voter centers listed above, the City & County of Denver will offer more locations opening on Nov. 1, 2014. Voting and Criminal Convictions:

In Colorado, convicted felons keep the right to vote as long as they have served their sentence and are not currently on parole. Felons currently incarcerated or on parole cannot vote. However, if you are in jail or on parole for a misdemeanor, you can still vote.
