Nevada came from a Spanish word that means "snow clad," which relates to the Sierra Nevada Mountain Snow Peaks. Nevada is the most arid "dry" state in the United States, being located in a mountain area with grasslands and deserts. It boasts of its popular cities, Las Vegas, Reno and its capital city, Carson City. There are many events and attractions in Nevada, making it seem like an "oasis" in the Nevada desert. - The Las Vegas strip is splendor on its own, making it one of the most popular city destinations in Nevada. Las Vegas is abundant with magnificent lights, luxurious hotels, amusing entertainment venues and high-rolling casinos. Various hotels have entertainment gimmicks so the patrons will visit them and stay as their guests. Bars, nightclubs, restaurants and casinos fill up the city, and are open 24 hours a day.
- The Chinese Workers Museum of America is located in Carson City, the capital city of Nevada. A nonprofit museum honors the contribution of Chinese workers in the United States. The museum's mission includes depicting how the Chinese immigrants overcame the challenges of the western United States' rugged environment, presenting artifacts and articles depicting Chinese culture and history, and providing information and encouraging studies about the 19th and 20th century Chinese-American relations. It will also feature international educational and cultural events for a greater understanding of the link between the two countries.
- The Adventuredome Theme Park, located in Las Vegas, has five acres of indoor fun, as a climate-controlled pink glass dome encloses the whole area. It has 25 indoor rides and attractions for the whole family. It also has bungee jumping, rock climbing, miniature golf, an arcade area, a clown show and mini-bowling lanes. An all-day pass is around $25 per person, as of 2010. It is ideal for people who want to hold school parties, graduation parties, company picnics or team-building and corporate events. The Las Vegas Review Journal Poll voted Adventuredome Theme Park as "The Best of Las Vegas 2010."
- One of the brightest and popular hotels in Las Vegas, The Mirage boasts for its superior hotel facilities and service, fine dining, and fun nightlife. Its facade has set a standard in the Las Vegas Strip front and one of its main attractions is the Mirage Volcano. The $25 million dollar man-made creation erupts every hour, and each eruption lasts for about four and a half minutes. It displays never-before-seen fire effects using the latest advancements in flame-expression technology and an exclusive musical score. Las Vegas Weekly Vegas Best named the Mirage Volcano as the "Best Manmade Wonder."
