How to Dissolve Grout for Tile Removal
- 1). Place a plastic drop cloth on the floor or beneath the surface where you'll be removing grout. Secure the drop cloth with masking tape to keep it in place.
- 2). Hold the grout saw with the carbide tip in the groove of the grout, between the tiles. Saw back and forth to wear down the grout and cause it to turn to dust. Repeat this step on every grout surface you wish to dissolve and remove.
- 3). Replace the carbide blade with a new one when the old one becomes ineffective.
