How to Remove the Webcam From Startup on Vista
- 1). Click the "Start" button.
- 2). Type "msconfig" in the search text box and press the "Enter" key on your keyboard. This will launch the System Configuration window.
- 3). Navigate to the "Startup" tab. This will list all programs that launch when your computer starts up, including your webcam software.
- 4). Find your webcam software in the list of programs. This may be different depending on the kind of webcam you own, and may not be listed specifically as a "webcam." Look for the name brand of your webcam under "Startup Item" or the name of the manufacturer under "Manufacturer."
- 5). Remove the check in the box next to the webcam software. This will prevent the software from running on startup, but allow you to launch the startup from a desktop icon when you need to.
- 6). Click the "OK" button and reboot your computer when prompted.
